Part II on our Kitchen Cures

Continuing on with the home remedies and quick fixes that you may not have known we look at a couple more.

Mint - As a tea mint can reduce nausea.  

Onion - A slice of raw onion on a bee sting can work wonders!

Potato - Sliced and placed over the eye potato can help with conjunctivitis or can help with an ear infection when placed over the ear canal.

Salt - 1/2 tsp in 4 oz of warm water can be used for sore throat gargling and relief of tonsillitis.  Sniffing 3-5 of the mentioned recipe helps with sinusitis too.

Sage - More for the sore throat.  1 tsp in 1 cup of warm water is a great sore throat gargle and effective in treating post nasal drips.  This tea can be swallowed to relieve hay fever and hot flashes.

Rubbing Alcohol - When dabbed behind the knees can bring down a fever.

Oatmeal - 1 cup in a bath or placed in a sock that is thoroughly wet can help rashes or relieve itching skin

Water - Cold running water can treat burns, hot water works on cramps. Steam inhalation is great for sinus congestion and ice packs are notorious for relieving swelling.  RICE.
